Daniel Van Oudenaren has worked as a professional editor for ten years, managed digital and radio projects internationally, and authored investigative journalism series on public corruption, healthcare, and international peacekeeping. He oversaw a newsroom of some two dozen journalists whose work has been cited by Reuters, the Associated Press, AFP, The Guardian, The Washington Post, and others. He speaks several foreign languages and is passionate about the role journalism can play in helping us better understand our neighbors and ourselves. After many years of work in the non-profit journalism sector, he moved to Texas in 2017 and founded Austin Bureau as an independent outlet in May 2018.
